Is There A City Under The Pyramids?

The media is filled with people claiming that there are staircases leading down to an underground city below the Great Pyramids, specifically Khafre. Is this true?

What is the Story the Media is Saying?

On March 15, a group of researchers at a press conference called "Giza: The Pyramids and the Temporal Gateway," where they revealed an amazing discovery. They used tomography to scan underneath the Khafre Pyramid to create 3D models that reveal new internal structures aswell as underneath.

They claim to have found 8 giant pillars that lead down about two kilometers and connect to a collection of "non-natural constructions following complex geometries."

They say these pillars are surrounded by spiral staircases around each pillar, which go down 648 meters and connect to "two large cubic structures measuring about 80 meters per side." As of now (March 30, 2025), there is no peer-reviewed paper on it yet.

Many news articles and podcast hosts are going Billy Casron crazy, blowing this up all over social media and the internet. Many think this is the Lizard people, and a lot more think it may be the Hall of Records. This mainly started on March 18 when Greg Reese released a video on the conference, a person previously associated with Infowars and Alex Jones.

Who's Involved?

The two main authors of the papers involved are Filippo Biondi, who worked at the Department of Electronic Engineering in Glasgow but resigned from his position, and Corrado Malanga, a Chemist at the University of Pisa. Corrado has written books about alien abductions where the abductee's memories are reprogrammed while their "soul components" are removed from their bodies. He's a ufologist and has written books such as Genesi, Gli UFO Nella Menta, and Alieni o Demoni which offers some clarity on the scientific honesty of the people involved. These views will be addressed later on.

What's The Method?

Biondi and Malanga posted papers in 2022 titled “Synthetic Aperture Radar Doppler Tomography Reveals Details Undiscovered High-Resolution Internal Structure of the Great Pyramid of Giza” (Biondi & Malanga, Remote Sens. 14, 20, 5231 (2022)). As in the title, they introduced a new method of analyzing the pyramids by something called Synthetic Aperture Radar Doppler Tomography (SARDT). SAR is an already existing method of tracking the ground movements of the Earth. An instrument sends out a pulse of energy and then records the amount of energy reflected back after it interacts with the Earth. It is created from the reaction of the emitted pulse with physical structures like mountains, ice, forests, and wet soil. The bigger the antenna that pulses energy, the larger the wavelength, but there's a point where it becomes too big to be accurate, so small antennas are used. It is operated at about 10 GHz of wavelength as mmWaves, which are not able to penetrate solid materials like limestone. Which raises a question as to how this method can scan inside and under the pyramids?

Was It Reliable?

They claim to be able to track vibrations of the surfaces of the pyramids and the ground and can reconstruct what is underneath them using the vibrations. This is true, as tomography means you can see inside, and the Doppler refers to the Doppler effect of the frequencies of the vibrations. This can be done to reconstruct the inside of an object via its surface vibrations, which is a method used to map out magma chambers in volcanoes. This method runs into some difficulty, as we will see shortly.

In the 2022 papers, they said they used the method combination to find structures inside the pyramids, but the data they reveal does not really line up at all with the tomography they had interpreted.

As you can see, how is this structure visible when it is in a cold signal zone?

These images from their 2022 paper display how their tomography data does not align with what we know is already in the Giza pyramid. The 2022 paper was widely denied because of their cherry picking and obviously false conclusions, they had no explanation for how they were identifying structures. It was a "trust me bro" scenario. So what's new in 2025? They claim that AI has done the identifying for them, which Biondi mentions in a paper in 2023 called “Super-Resolution of Synthetic Aperture Radar Complex Data by Deep-Learning.” The AI involvement, for me at least, raises a red flag of credibility.

What's The Issue?

The issue lies in reconstructing the inside and under the pyramids by surface vibrations and the way they went about it. To do this, you need measurable vibrations to start, and in a volcano, you already have those as seismic waves that can be sensed at the surface. These frequencies have a wavelength between 50-100 meters and are in a similar range as the magma chambers, thus they can be used to detect them. The seismic waves at Giza are not in the correct range to detect small structures within. They write that the frequency range they are looking for is at a range of 12.5 KHz, which is equal to a wavelength of about 24 cm. That's so small that PHD Physicist Sabine Hossenfelder says “it’s unlikely that they have a signal to begin with” and also questions why, if this method works, nobody else is using it.

This is for the Doppler Tomography part of the method, the Synthetic Aperture Radar has an even worse issue. It is not ground penetrating in any way, and can only scan about 1-3 meters into sand at the most! But that is because SAR is not intended to scan underground structures; we have other ground penetrating methods for this that we have used.

What We Know About The Giza Plateau

We actually know quite a lot about the land mass that the pyramids rest on, the Giza Plateau. A land mass that is made from Limestone and Bedrock, a material that SAR cannot penetrate, and the DT cannot detect any seismic waves for tomography analysis. To accurately scan underground, you would need a ground penetrating radar method, which is the opposite side of the SARDT coin. Archaeologist Flint Dibble offers some insight, and I will link his two videos on the SARDT method and the people involved, and will offer a short summary here of what he discusses.

Flint gives a recap of what's happening, and then notes that SAR imaging has been in use since the 1980s, and also mentions that Corrado Malanga is a chemist and has no professional experience with this technology, but Biondi does, however. He goes over the 2022 papers that we looked at earlier. Flint then lists 4 major problems with this "discovery."

#1 Unreliable Methods

Flint begins with the SAR type of scanning, and to get an accurate scan, you need to check your scans against the ground you scan. This is because there are a plethora of alternate explanations for the data you can receive (referring to the lines in the radar scans)

He also brings up the fact, as many are starting to notice, that their scans do not reveal any cave systems we already know exist in the area they have chosen. These are caves that we have been in and scanned in the past.

#2 We Know The Hydrogeology of Giza

We know a lot about the topography and hydrology of the Giza plateau. Flint says there are some issues with assuming megastructures built under the pyramids simply because of the fact that they are sitting on bedrock, and made from the same limestone/bedrock they are resting on (from quarries in other locations around the plateau). He mentions that we have used various other remote mapping methods for the Giza plateau, like Magnetometry, Electrical Resistance Imaging (ERI), and Ground Penetrating Radars. These are all methods that work far better than SARDT.

Flint says that we have also already known about underground carved passages under the Khafre Pyramid.

As far as our knowledge of the geography of the Plateau, there are no empire state buoding sized pillars underneath the pyramids. The hydrological water table of the plateau is also not that low underground. We know that at the time of the Egyptians, the Khufu Nile river branch made contact with the Pyramids, and even as recently as 1880, it was still visible near the pyramids. The current level of the water table lies within 4- 7 meters below the surface of the pyramids. So this underground city would be entirely submerged in water.

#3 The Presentation

Too many people are saying the government is shutting down research but that is not true. This team had full access to satellite equipment and permission for research with no restrictions. It was then conspiracy podcasts and YouTubers that popularized these people, and it all started with the previously mentioned ReeseReport. Then Jay Anderson caught on to it and treated it like proven fact, saying it could be the Hall of Records. Which has some major issues that will be covered shortly

#4 Pseudoarchaeology Rorschach

Flint uses Rorschach to give an understanding of the climate of mainstream pseudoarchaeology. Rorschach is a psychological test where a person is subject to a few images of black and white contrasted blobs that they openly interpret. Flint says this is very much what pseudoarchaeology is like, and he applies it to the radar data images (the red, blue, and green data images). Take a look at them with these questions in mind. Do you see actual pillars of consistent material with perfect spiral structures? No, you do not see solid signals across all "pillars," and the only idea of spiral structures comes from the lamination of the "pillars" (how they are layered in stripes). The pillars are not even a consistent distance, like the 3D models show. He says that they practically interpret what the data could look like if they “squinted” and thought about what they wanted, like a Rorschach test.

Before I leave this video, He does mention that Joe Rogan completely agreed with Flint when they talked about Pseuarchaeologists interpreting data like this like a Rorschach test, but since “I wasn’t the last person He spoke to,” Joe is spreading the TikTok Billy Carson stuff. In a follow-up video, Flint talks with Milo Rossi, where they discuss how the research team supporters and members are not really supporting their data, rather trying to get their supporters to cancel critics who have good reason points. This really reveals Character, but hey, it hasn’t even been a month since the press conference, I will always be open to a wrong possibility, but for now, there are too many odds against it than for it. The Hall of Records

The Hall of Records is what people are saying these pillars may lead to, but as we have already discovered, the methods used in these papers are questionable and proven to be unreliable. But let's give up even that, when all we are left with is to refute the hall of records. Could this dicovery be the fabled "Hall of Records?"

I will list Wiki's summary on this. I apologize, I have been awake since 4 am researching and writing, and it is currently 3:38 pm as of the writing of this sentence. Wiki’s summary: In the 1990s, Cayce's claims about the Hall of Records became conflated with two other fringe hypotheses about the origin and age of the monuments at Giza: the sphinx water erosion hypothesis and the Orion correlation theory. Adherents of these ideas came to adopt Cayce's date of around 10,500 BC for the origin of the sphinx. Many hoped the Hall of Records would soon be discovered, thus lending credence to the occult and New Age beliefs with which these hypotheses were frequently connected. Although the increased public attention to the site prompted the full exploration of a tomb known as the "water shaft" in 1999, nothing fitting Cayce's description has ever been found. Cayce's story originated from a work by Ignatius Donelly, who wrote a Pseudo-history about Atlantis, and that its citizens built passages under the pyramids.

Is It Real?

As far as the 1. Lack of Egyptian records of it, and 2. Archaeological and geographical evidence of it, it is safe to say that the Hall of Records has received the same treatment as The Da Vinci Code. Where a pseudohistory/historical fiction gets taken at a later date by another writer that states it as a proven historical fact that gets adopted by the layman, New Agers, and the occult. The Hall of Records, as a place that was built as part of an underground city by the citizens of Atlantis, is nothing more than a made-up history to confuse people, the pre-Internet 4chan Troll. It's funny when you think about it.

The Pyramid Mystery

Mainstream egyptologists say the pyramids took about 20 years or so to make and were completed in 2500 BC (ish), which seems unlikely. The pyramids of Teotihuacan took about 150 years to make, according to Egyptian records, and they are significantly smaller. The modern comparison is the Panama Canal and Saint Pierre Church, which took 33 years to complete. Yet these 2 million+ giant 2 to 80-ton limestone blocks were cut and transported 500 miles north and then pierced together with razor-edge precision, all before the invention of the wheel 300 years later.

Our crane equipment today has trouble lifting large stones the same size as these with metal woven cables, compared to the supposed ropes and wood of the Egyptians; Bronze chisels always dull after a few hefty hits on limestone; and Copper saws only cut at about 4 mm per hour. With the supposed tools, 20 years is impossible.

The Giza Pyramid is perfectly aligned to magnetic north with an accuracy of 3/60 of 1 degree off true north (99.4%). It is still the most perfectly aligned structure on the planet, and our modern-day equipment has only gotten to 6/60 of 1 degree. There are many other wonders, and with them in mind, it is very easy to see why people are attracted to these pseudohistories and theories and why they are so eager to jump to ancient aliens. Especially in out sci-fi movie culture. The moment you invoke aliens, you awaken an even bigger beast of an issue.

The Issue With Life Starting Elsewhere

Why invoke life starting elsewhere and planting it here as an explanatory entity, that breaks Ockham's Razor? Maybe this is an inference made from ignorance, let me clear it up for you. The issue with saying Alien life planted us here or came here begs a question of where that life came from. Contrary to popular opinion, scientists know very little when it comes to the origin of life and the mainstream theories do not add up to evidence and data that is gathered year by year (that means the knowledge gap grows annually).

Many people reply to that with the Miller-Urey experiment that "proved" life can come from matter. The issue with that statement is it has no awareness of the results of the actual experiment. Miller and Urey only created 2 out of the 20 types of amino acids, and created a 50/50 mixture of left and right-handed amino acids. Biological life can only use left-handed (homochiral) amino acids; any right-handed ones would contaminate the mixture and make it extremely difficult for random chance forces to create a protein or DNA. This topic deserves an entire post series, but Dr. James Tour has some really good content on this exact topic, aswell as Stephen C. Meyer. I'll give a very basic rundown. We have never made a cell from scratch, and we are talking about biology, so you cannot claim evolution did it because this is before evolution can even act on anything. The early earth conditions (not completely known) would have been nothing like a lab environment, no fine chemical producers; No discernible sources of natural left-handed amino acids to polymerize into proteins; No place for nucleotides, homochiral sugars, phospholids (lipids), no vacuum pumps, clean vessels, purified solvents, and no way to stop and start reactions with no way to transfer things to other vessels. These are all things involved in the origins of life experiments, but natural chance forces have none of that.

The 4 Macromolecules of Life

Polysacharides (Carbohydrates), which have a monomeric sugar makeup and can encode information (a characteristic of Carbon, the only element that can store information as well as it does)
Proteins (amino acid makeup), create Enzymes that are catalysts for the synthesis of biological molecules, and they resemble machines that are intelligently designed by human beings (with motors and complex contraptions, and apparatus). (Enzymes are only able to be constructed from the digitally encoded information stored in the DNA molecule, something that an enzyme must produce)
Nucleic Acids (DNA and RNA) which is made of nitrogenous bases linked to a pentose (5) sugar linked to a phosphate. These are what encode information
Lipids, which are made of fatty acids like Glycerol, phosphate, and ethanolamine, can also encode information, albeit to a degree.

All of these, and the encoded information, must be present at the same exact time for even the simplest cell to begin to survive, which modern science is completely lost on.

Time Is The Enemy

All of these molecules decay, and super fast, so having an extremely rare (even 150 amino acid long) strand of information is over the range of 1 in 10^10,000, which far surpasses elementary particles in the observable universe at 10^80 particles. Most of the “Origin of life” Research is not Actually From Scratch like it should be

Dr. James Tour goes over multiple experiments and research papers that show that these scientists usually use already existing genetic code from another cell, and use it with some enzymes. These experiments presuppose information, and information encoders (polymerase 3 enzyme) that originate in the information itself (Poly 3 Enzyme encodes the DNA info, but the info to make Poly 3 is in DNA)! Thus, saying aliens did it begs how they started, and if you have no explanation, then you're as lost as we are to our origins (if there were no God responsible for the observed irreducible complexity in life). Some say Silicon could maybe be a life-bearing element, but it doesn't store information aswell, and Carbon Monoxide is a gas, so it escapes cells as waste easily, whilst Silicon Monoxide is a solid and would be very difficult to extract for life forms. To not spend too much time on this, and I have plans in the Return of the God Hypothesis to write about it, we will move on with this.

Scripture Isn't Silent on This

I have written about UFO sightings (the article is linked after the conclusion) and their relation to Scripture; those articles need to be transferred to this website, and will be in the future. But the Bible is even more specific about the past, before the Flood of Noah. Genesis 6 says that the Nephilim were on earth in those days, and also afterward. "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (Gen 6:4)" The Sons of God may refer to the banished angels that revolted with Satan. Genesis also tells us that these Sons of God came and mated with human women and bore children to them that were very mighty. The Bible calls these the Nephilim or as some translations say, Giants. "that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. (Gen 6:2)"

It also says that the thoughts of men were purely evil continually. "Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gen 6:5)" This is why God sent the flood, to wipe out the Nephilim, and judge the choice of humans to be wicked before God. Ruslan KD, in his coverage of this discovery, gives an interesting interpretation of this evidence of the mystery of the pyramids. When the Sons of God rebelled with Satan and looked upon the women, they bred with them and birthed the Nephilim, which may come with supernatural powers or advanced knowledge and power. The Egyptians may have worshipped the Nephilim, and that's who they refer to as their gods, which is why they are recorded using magic arts, even in the Bible. He suggests that the Nephilim may have been what was worshiped as God in many other cultures. This does seem to explain the accuracy of the so “primitive” Egyptian building techniques and their goal to try and get their rulers to another dimension, the afterlife.

He uses the book of Enoch for some maybe historical context. This is fine; the book of Enoch and other old non-canonical books may actually relay some truth about past known history, but they have been made into legends and/or relayed the wrong message overall. Mainly for the book of Enoch, that Enoch was the messiah and not Jesus, it may very well be that the origin of the book of Enoch was a misinterpretation of why Enoch was taken to heaven with God. So the flood may have wiped out the Nephilim’s Physical Bodies, but not their Spiritual bodies. These Nephilim, now with no physical bodies but spiritual abilities, act and influence history as interdimensional beings.

But the book of Genesis continues into Exodus. Where the true God, YahWeh, ruler and creator of all spiritual and physical entities, provides ample evidence that He is more powerful and sovereign over the evil spirits that the pagans worshipped. This interpretation is in light of 1. The precision and mysteries regarding the Great Pyramids, and 2. The fabled occult storied about Egyptain history.

Conclusion

These findings do not convey the message the media is actually saying it does. We have looked at the methods involved in the research and its flaws. We also discovered the people involved in it are not entirely scientifically honest, and many under fire are looking to cancel their critics. With the amount of evidence against these claims, the reliability that there are giant columns under the pyramids seems far-fetched and a result of the fallibility of human reasoning and the extent of the imagination.

As of now, not much has been totally revealed. There have been no peer reviews of it, only what they claim in their papers and conference presentations. Until more information comes out, this case is closed.

The Bible is not silent on this, it's historical record has never been discredited, it only keeps getting confirmed by Archeological Evidence. Whether the Pyramids were built by Ancient men, or aided by divine figures, we know that we can trust the Word of God to guide us in this confusing age.
